As a fitness professional, you know the importance of a comprehensive understanding of exercise biomechanics, physiology, pathophysiology, and exercise science.

The missing link for many exercisers and trainers is understanding how the mind and our physiological and neurological (Immune, Endocrine, Sympathetic, and Parasympathetic Nervous Systems) responses are interconnected and directly influence health from the deepest level of our cells.

This course explores a holistic, integrative approach to maximizing the benefits of a mind-body exercise relationship.

Topics:

  1. Neurological Responses to Stress.
  2. Endocrine and Immune System Responses to Stress.
  3. Psychological Responses and Individual Differences Related to Resilience.
  4. Recovery Strategies.
  5. Integrating Mindfulness and Mind-Body Exercises to Your Practice.

Participants will know:

  1. When and why “exercise” might be the wrong approach to stress management.
  2. Understanding psychoneuroimmunology and psychoneuroendocrinology and their role in optimizing health.
  3. How to effectively prepare the “Body” for exercise. And it doesn’t begin with a “Warm-up.”

Mindfulness, meditation, and emotional regulation methods will be integrated into the practical hands-on skill portion of the course.

A holistic and integrative approach can provide clients with a more well-rounded and personalized training experience. It also promotes overall health and well-being.

The optional certification is an 80-question home-based multiple-choice exam.
