AAPTE CPT-EFS credential holders are required to renew their credential every two
(2) years. In addition, the two-year renewal requirement ensures that individuals holding the CPT- RTS1 is to better identify changes in the profession and are able to remain current in industry best practices.
Complete 20 hours of AAPTE-Approved continuing education credits (15 CECs) during your two-year certification renewal cycle.
That's only 10 hours (7.5 CECs) per year. 5 credits must be from AAPTE and other credits may either be pre-approved or petition for.
The beginning and end dates of your AAPTE Certification cycle is the time period in which you must complete your continuing education.
It is every two years from your original certification date.
CECs from AAPTE courses are automatically entered into your My AAPTE Account.
AAPTE home study courses must be uploaded using the button below.
Courses that have not yet been AAPTE-pre-approved can be petitioned for credit.
CECs can only be applied toward the renewal cycle in which they are completed.

Renew your AAPTE Certification
Once you have complete all your requirements for recertification, simply click the "Ready to Recertify " button below or on your My AAPTE Account, agree to the Recertification Application Truth of Information statement and submit your application.
Then go to checkout and pay the renewal fee. Done!
Courses submitted for AAPTE CEC approval have a Non-Refundable Petitioning Review fee of fifteen dollars ($15) per course. This fee schedule applies per submission.
