Extenuating Circumstances Reinstatement Policy

Reinstatement will be considered on a case-by-case basis for documented cases of serious illness, bereavement, natural disasters, and other emergencies. In these instances, candidates must contact the AAPTE Credentialing Department directly, via phone at 631.312.3350 or email tcordova@aapte.org to request reinstatement of their credential. 

Expired individuals with extenuating circumstances must complete the AAPTE request appeals form and provide documentation along with a $25.00 (nonrefundable) processing fee. Individuals will be notified via email within seven business days.

If approved individuals must submit proof of completed CECs or registration of required CECs within seven days of approval. 

All requirements including active CPR AED must be met within the CABs allotted timeframe (no longer than 6 months) to complete required coursework. Individuals unable to submit their completed coursework within the allotted time will forfeit their reinstatement and have no option but to re-register to take the CPT RTS1 exam. 

Reinstatement will only be considered for individuals who are within 6 to 12 months beyond their expiration date.
