This Hybrid Course

Two (2) ZOOM meetings (7/15 & 7/17/24, 6:00-8:30 PM.)

Two (2) In-person, hands-on skill training (7/20 & 7/21, 9:00 – 4:00.)

This course is for personal trainers and rehabilitation professionals seeking the advanced skills required to provide their clients and patients with the ultimate exercise experience.

RTS is for the unbiased exercise professional, focusing on exercise design, execution, delivery, and decision-making for the individual client or patient.

Certification Exam

Online-Home Based – A minimum grade of 70 to pass – 100 multiple-choice questions.

Zoom

  • An introduction to RTS™ principles and perspectives.
  • Anatomical architecture and considerations related to joint motion and muscle function.
  • Exploration of forces and restraints related to exercise.
  • Resistance profiles.

Practical

  • Hands-on skill development for the upper, lower body, and spine. In-depth application of exercise mechanics as it relates to joint function and muscle stimulation. 
  • Verbal, visual, and tactile Cueing for effective neuromuscular recruitment.
  • Introduce strategic variation® of exercise manipulation and progressions.
  • Machines, Body Weight, Elastomers, Cables, Pneumatic, and free weights.

Participants must be

  • Open-minded. This course will challenge your beliefs and understanding of exercise.
  • Interested in principle-based exercise decision-making.
  • Committed to evolving their understanding of exercise to customize the design, execution, and delivery of exercise to meet the ever-changing needs and tolerances of each client/patient.
  • Willing to participate in the practical skill exercise experience.

Learning objectives

  • Understand the fundamental principles of the RTS and how to apply them to create a unique client/patient experience.
  • Apply principles of mechanics to exercise analysis and application (e.g., moment arm, torque, inertia, offloading, and uploading force).
  • To understand that the effect of an exercise is based upon the application of forces (internal & applied) and their influence on the tissues of the human body.

Participants will be able to

  • Analyze the motions, forces, and positions of an exercise.
  • Use strategic and deductive approaches to initiating an exercise and manipulate exercise for intended outcomes and goals.
  • Apply the principle of MicroProgression™ of exercise(s) based upon a client’s needs, goals, abilities, and tolerance.
  • Apply their understanding of the interrelationship of muscle actions, joint positions, and motions to exercise application.
  • Apply essential principles of physics and mechanics to exercise.

Certification Exam
